The carnivals of the Canary Islands is celebrated in the streets with street dances, parades and exhibitions

The Carnivals of the Canary Islands are celebrated in the month of February in each corner of the Canary Islands. The most famous is the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival and the Carnival of Puerto de la Cruz. The carnivals of the Canary Islands are a feast that is live and celebrated in the street.
 
The Carnivals of the Canary Islands begin with the election of the queen of Carnaval, her court and the child queen. A cavalcade takes the first step to begin the carnivals. The following week arrive murgas, rondallas, comparsas, fancy dress competitions and a parade of old cars. And Tuesday is the big day of the Carnival of the Canary Islands, with the “Coso”, a cavalcade that arrives in the middle of the afternoon.
 
In addition to the Carnivals of the Canary Islands, also celebrates the burial of the sardine, which is done with rags. In procession the sardine  is carried in a throne, while mourners, widows and pregnant men accompany the step.
 
The Carnivals of the Canary Islands are accompanied by parties in the streets, dances, parades and exhibitions. And it is celebrated in all the towns of the Canary Islands.
